About  Dawn

Welcome

Dawn Renee Francis, a woman of faith, launched her educational journey from the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of Music, from which she attained a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance. Continuing in the educational realm, Dawn embarked on her professional music journey as a teacher in the Michigan Public School System--spanning elementary, middle and high school educational levels. After relocating to the Greater Washington D.C. area, she expanded her educator role in the Howard County Public Schools for over 15 years, specializing in Music Education.

Equally gifted as instructor and singer, her vast repertoire spans classical opera and art song, gospel, and jazz, while her performances have extended throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Canada, Europe, Germany and South Africa. Complementing her accomplishments as a classical singer, gospel and jazz artist, Ms. Francis continues to enhance and inspire others as a vocal trainer, choral director, worship leader and an opera/musical theater actress.

Her powerful Spinto Soprano voice has been heard as the

Countess in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Lady MacBeth in Verdi’s

Macbeth, and Desdemona in La Forza del Destino. She has also captivated audiences in the musical productions, Dream Girls and I Got My Man, in which she performed leading roles. In addition, Ms. Francis’ soloist performance on "Wait on the Lord", reached #8 on the Billboard Charts.

As a graduate of the Spirit of Faith Bible Institute (SOFBI), under the leadership of her Pastors Dr. Mike and Dee Dee Freeman, she faithfully served as the former Director of the Music Ministry at the Howard County MD location of Spirit of Faith Christian Center, while zestfully working to fulfill her purpose and destiny, catapulting churches and musicians to the next level of excellence in the Kingdom of God.
